The Conjurers collection is a working series. I grew up on the east and west coast, even outside the US. During this time people from all walks and cultures came across my path. In my imagination they became characters of mystery and delight. All my painted kokeshi characters are inspired by the charming Kokeshi doll, a traditional limbless wooden Japanese toy. (Love a wooden toy!) Each Conjurer possesses their own unique abilities and costume— an invitation to imagine them spinning tales, captivating a room, or levitating a flickering lantern.
