From Door to Coffee Table

In our current day, I believe consumerism and waste are too prevalent. Given a third chance, some trees can expand into yet another life. In the process of re-purposing this door I kept some of the imperfections of its previous life. I want them to live on. The eyes should enjoy resting on these reminders that the past can be something beautiful. A metaphor to ponder of our own lives.

The title of this piece comes from the bloom. It's called "First Light".
